Corry girls middle school basketball coach
The 8th grade Lady Beavers hosted the undefeated Huskies of Harbor Creek in middle school basketball action Tuesday afternoon. The Beavers would put a great effort on the court but came up short 19-12.
It was all defense in quarter one as both teams made it difficult to score. The quarter ended with Harbor Creek up 2-0. Quarter two was very similar with both teams playing tough defense while being unable to generate much offense. Corry went in to halftime down 3-7.
I liked our position at the half. With only being down two buckets, we were very much in the game.
Starting the 2nd half, Corry was able to go on a little run and notch things up at 10 apiece. Heading into the fourth quarter, Corry continued to battle but eventually fell short, losing
19-12.
I was proud of how we played today. I thought the girls played tough against a really good Harbor Creek team. Our defense was strong, and our subs stepped up and played well when we had a string of injuries in the 2nd half. It was great to see our improvement compared to the last time we played them.
