Corry middle school basketball hosted the lady Tigers of Fairview on Thursday night. The Beavers knew it was going to be a good game and it really was. The Beavers would come up short though as they fell to the Tigers 23-16.
Corry battled hard all game and was able to stay within a bucket or 2 for three quarters. After one, Corry was down 6-4. In the second, Fairview extended their lead to 10-6. Corry continued applying pressure in the third to cut the deficit in half with a score of 16-14. The Beavers were unable to complete the comeback in the fourth, eventually falling to Fairview 23-16.
I really loved our effort today. All four quarters, the girls were giving me all they had.
Corry was led by Ava West with 8 pts, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, and 6 steals. Mikayla Comitz ended the game with 6 pts, 3 rebounds, and a steal. Jordyn Watrous finished with 2 pts and 1 steal. Maci Kemp had 5 rebounds, 1 assist, and 2 steals. Liv Swan had 3 rebounds-2 steals while Hannah Daniels had 1 steal and Delaney Church had 1 rebound.
The Beavers will host Walnut Creek on Tuesday the 17th.
