The Corry girls middle school basketball team hosted North East on Tuesday night and picked up a 33-13 win over the Grape Pickers.
Corry started off strong with a 12-2 lead after one against visiting North East. North East hit a couple shots in the 2nd to get within 7 with a halftime score of 15-8. Corry came out on fire in the third to take a commanding 27-9 lead. Corry finished the game in the 4th by winning the quarter 6-4 and the game 33-13 Corry.
I really liked how we were sharing the ball. We ended with 8 assists. We've got one practice tomorrow before a double header on Thursday and Friday.
Ava West led us with a career high 22 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, and 7 steals. Maci Kemp had 2 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals. Baylee Northrop finished with 3 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and 4 steals. Liv Swan had 2 points, 2 rebounds, and 1 steal. Mikayla Comitz had 2 points and 3 rebounds. Hannah Daniels had 2 points, 2 rebounds and a block. Jordyn Watrous had 1 rebound and 3 assists. Delaney Church had 1 rebound. Emma Kight had 1 rebound and 3 steals.
Corry will host the Fairview Tigers on Thursday. Opening tipoff is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
