The lady Beavers basketball team traveled to Erie Monday night to face off against the Royals. Corry fell behind in the 1st quarter 15-5. The Beavers battled hard in the 2nd quarter, matching Erie's offense 13-13 to head into halftime down 28-18.

Corry continued fighting in the second half but eventually fell to the Royals, 53-31.

I liked our effort. We never gave up. We did some things very well and continue to keep improving. We missed some shots that we need to make but they will fall.

Leading the way for Corry was Sadye Dyne with 10 points followed by Haley Mumau with seven points and two assists. Halle Albers had six points with one assist. Rylee Nickerson deposited four point and six assists, Kaygen Rogers with two points and an assist, and Reagan Porter with two points. Nickerson ended the game with 14 rebounds followed by Dyne, Rogers, and Mumau with 5 rebounds each. Porter had 3 rebounds while Albers and Regan Kemp had one rebound each.

The JV game was a little closer score wise. There wasn't must offense in the first half from either team, but Corry found themselves down by five at the half. The second half, Corry was able to get their offense going. "Money Molly" Irwin drained a three to start the third, and hit another one shortly  there after. Corry's defense was able to make an adjustment on Erie's circle play, to stop allowing the drive.

Erie held a slim two point lead in the third. It was back and forth the whole fourth quarter. With just over a minute and a half in the game, with the game tied, Regan Kemp was fouled on the inbounds play, making one of two from the line to go up by one. Erie was then able to get a couple quick buckets. Corry found themselves down by two. With about 20 seconds left, Kemp was fouled driving to the hoop making one of two foul shots to put Corry down by two. On the next possession, Madi Leofsky got a steal and then was fouled to send her to the line. She made one of two to put Corry down by one. Corry fouled Erie sending them to the line but they missed both foul shots. There was a jump ball on the rebound that went to Corry. Corry had one last chance with seconds left, They had a good pass and a look at the hoop but didn't get the roll and took the loss 33-32. Corry was led by Irwin with 10 points, three steals and four rebounds, Madi with nine points three assists and three steals, Regan with seven points, 12 rebounds, three steals and three blocks, Emry Passinger and Maggie Young each with three points, Lauren Fox added three rebounds and one from Lucy Hasbrouck.

"Overall I thought this was a much more solid game we played. We are doing a better job of being in the right position on defense. We still have offensive plays we need to work on and running them on the fly." JV Coach Karalee Kemp said.
