Corry Girls Soccer Head Coach
Monday night Corry hosted Northeast in an important region game. Corry was looking to avenge their 1-0 defeat in North East from earlier in the year. The Beavers did just that and came away with the win defeating the Grape Pickers by the same score 1-0!
Really proud of the girls as this was a big win for the team. Scoring for Corry was Delaney Nickerson with her first goal of the season off of a penalty kick awarded with 5:35 to go in regulation. Delaney does a lot for the team as the defensive leader and doesn’t get a lot of recognition for all the work she does. So it was nice to have her come up and get the go ahead goal to give us the lead.
Since I’ve been a coach for Corry we have not been able to edge out northeast. It’s always a tight regional battle and usually a one score difference but they always end up on the winning side. I’m happy that the seniors were able to check that one off.
The JV girls also won their match against Northeast with a final score of 2-1. Lauren Fox scored both goals. One of them was off of the corner that she took herself that bent in and the other was a penalty kick.
The win improves the lady Beavers record to 9-6-1 on the season with 2 big games left. They will be on the road in Titusville on Wednesday and will wrap up the regular season against Conneaut on Thursday. Both games are a 6:00 PM Start time.
