Corry Girls Soccer Head Coach
Saturday morning, Corry hosted Oil City for our fifth game of the season. Corry won with a score of 1-0, improving to 4-0-1.
We came out strong and scored within the first six minutes. That goal was scored by Mahra Goodwill. After that, Oil City's goalkeeper played a great game.
We (Corry) had 21 shots today, and 14 of those were saved by the goalie. We also hit the post 3 times. The other 4 shots were just wide. I’m strict with what I give the girls as a “shot,” and we were certainly firing away.
Their goalie came up huge for them today as it could have easily been a 10-0 game. As far as the defense and the midfield, besides a few balls sneaking past us, 80% of that game today was on their side of the 50, so a good job there as well. Still, some things to button up and improve on, but we are improving with each game.
The Lady Beavers will head to Fairview on Wednesday to take on the Tigers. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
