Corry girls middle school basketball coach
Corry battled with Girard for the Beavers second of four games this week and for the second game in a row the Middle School Basketball team came out on top 31-23.
The first half was back and forth with Corry winning quarter one 7-5 and Girard winning quarter two 6-5 to head into halftime with the Beavers up 12-11.
We played well in the first half. Our defense was strong and we were getting plenty of chances offensively. We knew for the 2nd half that if we continued our defense and could start making shots, that we would be fine.
The Beavers were able to accomplish both of those goals in the third by winning the quarter 13-8. Corry continued applying pressure in the 4th to get a well-earned 31-23 win against a strong Girard team.
Ava West led us offensively with 17 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and seven steals. Mikayla Comitz followed with five points, three rebounds, and a steal. Liv Swan finished with four points and seven rebounds. Maci Kemp had three points, two rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Jordyn Watrous had two points, two rebounds, and a steal while Baylee Northrop and Hannah Daniels each had one rebound.
The Beavers will head to Fairview on Thursday before finishing out the week at home against Titusville on Friday. Both games are slated for a 4:00 PM tipoff.
